Overlooking the aptly named Discovery Quay in the centre of Falmouth, National Maritime Museum Cornwall is an award-winning museum celebrating the sea. The Museum is nestled within Falmouth’s harbour with far reaching views towards Penryn and Flushing – and the industrial docks. Inside, the Museum boasts 15 galleries, a boatbuilding workshop, exciting new exhibitions every year, interactive exhibits and a collection that spans The National Small Boat collection, artworks, maps and charts, memorabilia and other objects. From the top of the Lookout Tower you can take in panoramic views of the town and further afield, and from the very bottom you can go under the sea without getting wet. Events Square, directly outside the Museum is a large open area surrounded by thriving hospitality businesses, retailers, offices and residential properties. Hosting a variety of events throughout the year it is home to live music performances, festivals and weekly food markets.
